Thank you for signing up to volunteer with The Lingo Project!
What We Believe
God is the Creator and Ruler of the universe. We believe that He has eternally existed in three persons: The Father, The Son and The Holy Spirit. These three are co-equal and are one God.
Jesus is God's Son and He came to earth, fully God and fully man, lived a perfect and sinless life, was crucified on a cross, and rose from the grave three days later, and later ascended to heaven where he now sits at the right hand of The Father. We believe that Jesus died on the cross to pay the penalty for our sins and Jesus is coming back.
The Holy Spirit is God’s presence and convicts us of our sin. We believe that in order to live the holy and fruitful lives that God intends for us, we need the power of the Holy Spirit.
The Bible is inspired by God and we accept God’s word as the full and final authority for faith and life. We believe that every participant of The Lingo Project should be encouraged to search and read The Bible in order to find direction for their lives.
God is first in everything we do including learning a new language
We exist to build stronger communities through language education, guided by faith and a spirit of unity. We believe language is more than just words; it's a bridge that connects people and opens doors to opportunities. We believe that by the power of the Holy Spirit people can learn the language!
Genesis 11:1-9 - The Tower of Babel
Now the whole world had one language and a common speech. As people moved eastward, they found a plain in Shinar and settled there.
They said to each other, “Come, let’s make bricks and bake them thoroughly.” They used brick instead of stone, and tar for mortar. Then they said, “Come, let us build ourselves a city, with a tower that reaches to the heavens, so that we may make a name for ourselves; otherwise we will be scattered over the face of the whole earth.”
But the Lord came down to see the city and the tower the people were building. The Lord said, “If as one people speaking the same language, they have begun to do this, then nothing they plan to do will be impossible for them. Come, let us go down and confuse their language so they will not understand each other.”
So the Lord scattered them from there over all the earth, and they stopped building the city. That is why it was called Babel because there the Lord confused the language of the whole world. From there the Lord scattered them over the face of the whole earth.

Build relationships
We are stepping out of the walls of the church to share the love of Jesus and to get participants plugged into a church. 75% of our students do not attend church; therefore, we ask that you use your best discernment on how often you should invite your students to church, and where to invite them. As you get to know each participant in your class, where they live, and their level of English, pray that you get the opportunity to invite them to church. It is ideal to invite them and sit with them at church; however, we know that is not always possible.
Please let us know if your student is looking for a church.
