West Program Coordinator

Job Title: Lingo Project West Program Coordinator

Location: Columbus Bilingual West  680 Harrisburg Pike Columbus, OH 43223 

Pay: $15 hourly - Contractor Position

 

 

Position Summary:The Lingo Project West Program Coordinator ensures smooth program operations, manages volunteers, and fosters alignment between The Lingo Project leadership, students, and local partners.

Key Responsibilities:

Actively engage and invite new volunteers to serve at the West site.
Build and mobilize a team of volunteers to strengthen the West site’s programs. 

Oversee facility management, classroom setup, and overall program environment.

Manage program scheduling, supplies, calendars, and volunteer coordination.
Respond to emergencies and urgent issues with discernment, professionalism, and prayer.

 

Student & Volunteer Support
Communicate program expectations clearly to new students and maintain ongoing student support.
Manage volunteer schedules and attendance.
Train, mentor, and lead volunteers.
Lead pre- and post-program huddles to provide direction, encouragement, and feedback.

 

Leadership & Communication
Develop strong relationships with leadership, local schools, and church partners.
Communicate weekly with leadership to plan, organize, and lead programs, events, and outreach initiatives.
Provide consistent communication with students, volunteers, and partners to ensure alignment of procedures.

 

Requirements

Strong willingness to learn quickly.

Excellent communication skills, with a friendly and professional tone.

Ability to respond to messages promptly and with attention to detail.

Strong organizational skills and ability to multitask.

Basic computer literacy (email and spreadsheets). Ability to work independently while staying aligned with team goals.

Open and prepare the facility before each program and ensure proper closing procedures.
Lead devotionals and foster a Christ-centered, welcoming atmosphere without engaging in divisive conversations
Manage classroom numbers and student flow, ensuring programs run smoothly and safely.

 

Preferred Qualifications:

Heart for serving diverse communities, particularly the Hispanic community.
Passion for teaching English, even without formal teaching experience.
Strong organizational and administrative skills.
Experience using digital communication and scheduling platforms (Planning Center, WhatsApp, text, email, etc.).
Bilingual proficiency (English and Spanish) required.
